SOFTEN™

Trauma-Informed Regulation Training
Saturday, May 23rd | Virginia Beach, VA + Live Online Option

Embodied Leadership for Trauma-Informed Spaces

An immersive, ethics-centered training for practitioners who hold space for others.

Regulated. Ethical. Embodied.

This Is Not Another “Trauma-Informed” Buzzword Workshop.

SOFTEN™ is a practical, embodied framework designed to help you:

• Recognize nervous system states in real time
• Respond instead of react
• Facilitate regulation without overstepping your scope
• Support children, families, and communities without burning out

This training bridges somatics, yoga philosophy, nervous system science, and real-world facilitation skills.

It is grounded. It is relational. It is usable immediately.

Humility

Embodiment

Clear scope

And ethical responsibility

SOFTEN™ was created to support practitioners who want depth, not performance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Is this a yoga class? No. While we will engage in guided somatic and yoga-based practices, this is a professional training focused on trauma-informed facilitation and nervous system literacy. You will move, reflect, and practice - but this is not a flow class. Do I need to be a yoga teacher to attend? No. This training is open to educators, therapists, parent educators, coaches, wellness professionals, faith leaders, and anyone who holds space for others. If you work with humans, this training applies. Is this training clinical? No. This is not psychotherapy training and does not certify you to diagnose or treat trauma-related disorders. The SOFTEN™ framework supports ethical, scope-aware facilitation within your existing professional role. If you are not a licensed mental health provider, you will not be trained to operate as one. Will I receive a certification? You will receive a Certificate of Completion for the SOFTEN™ Trauma-Informed Regulation Training. This is a standalone training. A more advanced Certification will be offered separately in the future. Participants in this May cohort will receive priority access to future certification enrollment. How is the virtual option structured? Because this is an immersive and interactive training, virtual options will not be available at this time and cannot take the place place of live attendance. What if I cannot attend after registering? Due to limited capacity and printed materials: • Tickets are transferable to another person with written notice. • Credit may be applied toward a future SOFTEN™ training (minus a small administrative fee). • Refunds are not guaranteed unless the event is canceled without rescheduling. Full cancellation policy will be provided upon registration. Is prior trauma knowledge required? No. However, this training is not introductory self-help. It is designed for practitioners who are committed to: • Self-regulation • Professional ethics • Ongoing learning • Responsible facilitation You do not need to know everything. You do need to be open. Will this training feel emotionally intense? The content addresses trauma-informed practice, but this is not group therapy. We prioritize nervous system pacing, consent, and integration. You are always invited to participate at your own capacity. What should I bring? Participants should bring: • A journal • A water bottle • Comfortable clothing for light movement • An open and reflective mindset All printed materials will be provided. Why is this training capped at 15 participants? Trauma-informed learning requires relational safety and real-time feedback. This cap ensures: • Depth of discussion • Personalized facilitation feedback • Emotional containment • Meaningful integration This is intentional. Is this training appropriate for people who have experienced trauma themselves? Many practitioners who attend will have lived experience. However, this training is designed for professional skill development, not personal trauma processing. Please assess your readiness to engage in discussions about trauma in a learning environment. If you are currently in acute crisis, we encourage you to seek therapeutic support first.
